THE LEGEND

Today, Mixed Martial Arts is unquestionably the fastest growing sport in the world. The highly promoted pay per view events are turning MMA stars into house hold names. Many fans have developed an understanding of the various disciplines that participants master as well as the chess match that takes place during competition.
Long before this was the case, before the money, the fame, even before most of the rules, there was Ken Shamrock. Ken is one of the most widely recognized MMA fighters in the world. He is a legendary American Mixed Martial Arts fighter & former professional wrestler. Ken Shamrock is best known for his participation in the Pride Fighting Championships, Ultimate Fighting Championship and Pancrase fighting events. Shamrock is currently a subject matter expert in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). He has also written two books, “Inside The Lion's Den” and “Beyond The Lion's Den”. In addition to overseeing the Lion’s Den Scottsdale, Ken coaches the Nevada Lion’s IFL team and is in the best shape of his life as he prepares for his next competition.
Upon returning to the United States from the Pride Fighting Championships, Shamrock formed the Lion's Den, an elite group dedicated to the training of Mixed Martial Arts. The rigorous tryouts to become part of the Lion’s Den Elite Team are Legendary in the world of MMA. Many Lion's Den fighters have achieved great success in Mixed Martial Arts, while other's such as Guy Mezger and Frank Shamrock have become legends in their own right.
The Lion’s Den was originally located in San Diego before moving briefly to Shamrock’s hometown of Susanville, CA. After a short stay there, The Lion’s Den moved to Reno where the IFL Nevada Lion’s are based today.
The Legend of the Lion’s Den has been built over years of one man’s hard work, struggle and fight. Ken Shamrock personally selected Scottsdale, AZ as the newest Lion’s Den location. He has also hand picked the Lion’s Den Scottsdale instructors as well as the Lion’s Den Elite team, to ensure the legend lives on.
